Our History
How Staples Custom Homes Came To Be
Staples Custom Homes was founded in 1982, when Dwin Staples, who was the principal of Glen Rose High School, decided to go into the homebuilding business. At first, Dwin did all the work alone, but as demand increased, he slowly contracted more until he reached the Staples Custom Homes we have today, a general contractor.
Our Story
In 1990, Staples Construction Inc. was officially established as a corporation. Dwin's sons, Clint and Steve, grew up working at different trades in the business. After they both graduated college, they went to work for Dwin and Staples Custom Homes. Although Dwin still assists in grade and excavation work, he retired from contracting in 2019, leaving the company to Steve and Clint.
We continue to operate as a small, family-owned custom homebuilding business. We usually complete around 8 to 12 projects a year, and have strived to follow the Lord, Jesus Christ in every business endeavor. He has blessed our company and consequent family.
